Job overview

 

To support qualifying individuals under the Mental Capacity Act, in receipt of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in the community. Ensure that individuals are given a voice to make sure their rights are upheld. As an Advocate, ensure the rights of people who are deprived of their liberty under the Mental Capacity Act in care homes and hospitals are upheld, their  voices heard, and their feelings represented.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The role will be supporting a wide range of adults with mental health and 
learning disabilities often with complex, profound and multiple needs.
Follow national and local policies.
Visit clients in their care home, hospital, or community health setting,
exploring, and supporting them in their views and wishes regarding their care, treatment and relevant issues impacting them.

  • Knowledge or have worked in Advocacy, Adult Mental Health, or Learning Disability
