If you are looking for a new role with the chance to make a real difference, we have a fantastic opportunity for an engaging and inspiring individual to join the Powys Health, Care and Social Care Academy, hosted by Powys Teaching Health Board, as a Joint Health and Social Care Trainer.
We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Academy team to develop, deliver and evaluate a range of educational career pathways into health and social care.
The role will be working across the health and care sector to deliver high quality training and education that equips individuals with the right skills to deliver excellent health and care services across our county.
The post holder will organise and deliver the regional Joint Induction Framework across health and social care and a range of health and social care qualifications and associated clinical skills as part of the Health, Care and Social Care Academy local schools and colleges initiative.
The post holder will be a registered Social Care or Healthcare Practitioner, holding a teaching qualification at level 3 or above, and have experience in developing and delivering education and training programmes in the health and/or social care sector.
The ability to commute flexibly across the county would also be a requirement.
Main duties of the job
The key objectives for the role are:
To work across Health & Social Care teams to develop, plan, deliver and evaluate a Joint Health and Social Care Induction, aligned to the All Wales Induction Framework [AWIF] and the All Wales HCSW Clinical Induction.
To design and deliver a joint training programme that meets the quality standards of the relevant accreditation bodies, liaising with appropriate provider centres to ensure quality assurance, appropriate access and qualification targets are met.
To develop collaborative learning and development solutions to deliver the project, developing and implementing a project plan consulting with all stakeholders including local authorities, health and the independent commissioned sector and all relevant carers.
To be a pivotal role in supporting the development of career and educational pathways into and across the sector.
Develop a sustainable approach to delivering the Joint Health and Social Care Induction Framework post project that includes a long-term plan for funding options.
Develop a full evaluation of the programme to showcase the success
The successful candidate will have the ambition to support the project’s success inspiring the potential future workforce of Powys to consider a career in Health and Social care. They must have excellent planning, communication and negotiation skills, be a competent professional/clinician and have a flexible approach.

- Registered Social Care and/or Health Practitioner in Health or Social Care or equivalent relevant professional practice
- Comprehensive working knowledge of health & social care, workforce legislation, or equivalent experience

- Knowledge of, and understanding, research in practice, experience undertaking research and audit in practice

- Demonstrable experience of the development, design and delivery of L&D programmes/initiatives to professional practice
