Job overview
We currently have vacancies for bank Radiography health care support workers to join our busy and friendly teams in Powys. Working in the Radiography departments in Welshpool, Newtown, Llandrindod Wells, Brecon and Ystradgynlais hospitals. The opening hours of each site are from 8.30-5 Monday to Friday
Radiology currently provides imaging investigations, including X-Ray and Ultrasound with the possibility of further experience in other modalities in the future.
We would particularly welcome applications from Welsh speakers; but even if you don’t speak any Welsh, or want to develop your skills, don’t worry: the health board will support you with training..
Main duties of the job
The role will involve working within a multidisciplinary team, providing high quality patient care during imaging investigations. The duties of this post include supporting Radiographers, Radiologists, and Sonographers clinically and undertaking clerical duties, while rotating through all areas of the Radiology department.
You should ideally have excellent communication skills and full computer literacy. Previous clinical experience in a healthcare setting with experience of patient databases is desirable.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Level 3 qualification in relevant healthcare subject, or possess the equivalent skills, knowledge and experience • Understanding of the role of Radiographic Support Workers
Desirable criteria
- Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology • Knowledge of clinical work
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience of working with the public in paid or voluntary roles • Experience of using computers
Desirable criteria
- Experience in supportive/assistant role such as Radiology Support Worker/HCSW/experience working within a hospital/caring • environment • Experience in a range of clinical skills including aseptic techniques
Skills and Attributes

- Good verbal and written communication skills • Demonstrate a positive, caring and compassionate attitude • Ability to deal with distressing situations • Works well both as an individual and as part of a team with good organisational and time management skills • Motivated and possess a non-judgemental attitude towards others • Willing to seek out learning, accept instruction and give/receive constructive feedback
