Project Manager: Unified Care Pathways for Post-Menopausal Bleeding

Band 7

Job overview

This post is an exciting opportunity to be part of the development and integration of the ‘Unified care pathway for patients with postmenopausal bleeding (PMB)’. This post will provide effective project management to facilitate the creation, implementation and evaluation of the new pathway.

The introduction of the faster diagnostic unified care pathway for PMB will allow urgent cancer referrals to be easily accessible by both patients and clinicians through a single point of access. This pathway aims to reduce inequalities of access for patients, reduce workload for primary care and facilitate real-time control of the whole PMB pathway to ensure there is sufficient capacity any further investigations or treatment that may be required (e.g. hysteroscopy or polypectomy).

Main duties of the job

There are three main elements to the project:

1. The setup, production and maintenance of the digital / telephone interface for patients and clinicians.

2. Establishing central and peripheral community clinics that manage the faster diagnostic case load.

3. Producing the business case for the continuation of the project after the completion of SWAG funding.

The appointed candidate with be responsible for keeping to time and budget constraints whilst maintaining quality of the project. They will deliver the project using appropriate project management techniques and Improving Together methodology. The successful candidate will work within the Gynaecology Department with clinicians and managers to facilitate the development and introduction of the pathway.
