Early Evening Hotel Services Assistant (Housekeeper) 

Working between 15.30 and 18.30 Saturdays and Sundays  - 6 hours per week

The successful post holder will provide a catering and cleaning service for our Service Users, Staff and Visitors across our Wards and Departments .

You will be working as part of an established Team who provide a full Hotel Services function across the Hospital.

 

Main duties of the job

Catering - The handling, reheating, and service of cook-freeze meals. Making light snacks including salads, sandwiches and beverages. Washing up and associated cleaning within the ward kitchen and dining room. 

Cleaning - Cleaning all areas of the Hospital, including bedrooms with en-suite facilities, bathrooms, day rooms, lounges, corridors, offices and other areas of the Ward. 

Other duties - Handling and disposal of waste, curtain changing and laundering.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Housekeepers support the Nursing Staff to provide an appropriate environment for patient care. Duties will include general cleaning of all Ward/Departmental areas and the preparation and presentation and service of patients' meals and beverages. Housekeepers will be expected to demonstrate a flexible attitude to their work to meet the needs of the ward and the patients. Housekeepers are expected to work in a controlled and systematic way in an environment where there may be constant distractions and contact with service users displaying disturbed and challenging behaviour on a frequent basis.
