Job overview
To deputise for the Office Manager in her absence to ensure the ongoing efficient running of the Breast Screening Programme.
To undertake a supervisory role within the office, supporting the Office Manager in the organisation of the clerical staff and their duties.
To work as part of the Breast Screening Clerical Team within the Breast Screening units in the CSU.
To liaise with NHSBSP, PCT’s, General Practitioners, Practice Managers, Consultants, and other relevant Trust staff.
To undertake reception, telephone and other clerical support tasks.
Main duties of the job
To supervise staff within the Breast Screening office, prioritising workloads and deploying staff accordingly to ensure best practice in terms of quality and efficiency.
To operate the National Breast Screening system efficiently on a daily basis.
To undertake patient reception duties, this may mean at times dealing with difficult and potentially aggressive clients and there relatives.

Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in an office environment
- Minimum 1 year in supervisory/training role Experience in Medical environment
Desirable criteria
- Experience in a Medical Environment
- Knowledge of PAS and/or RIS Knowledge of NHS Breast Screening Programme
- Experience of working for NHS

- Educated to GCSE minimum Grade C or equivalent English Language and Maths Or NVQ Level 2
