Admin Team Leader - Audiology

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Admin Team Leader to join the Audiology Service within Clinical Specialist Services Division  at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospital Trust.

We are looking for a motivated, driven individual to lead our Clinical Therapy Administration team and support performance. 

You will manage and develop the administration service working across our DBTH sites. Responsible for the day to day management of the administrative teams,  annual appraisals, annual leave, sickness management and adherence to Trust HR policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about the challenges of a busy working and constantly changing environment, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and to achieve strict deadlines. Motivate and influence others, implement ideas to improve team performance and efficiency. 

We are looking for someone who is proactive in their thinking  to join our leadership team.  Dedicated to delivering the best service possible. 

Main duties of the job

  • Promoting data quality processes and a right first time approach
  • Responsible for day to day line management of administration staff including receptionists/booing staff, recruitment and selection, to ensure working environments comply with health & safety legislation, staff inductions, annual leave, rota management and general day to day staff management as needed.
  • Monitoring performance , training and problem solving. 
  • Implement effective monitoring and managing systems for annual leave and sickness in line with Trust Policy , liaising with the Service Manager where service implications are identified. 
  • Managing patient waiting lists and prioritise caseloads

Person specification

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience and knowledge of a range of administrative and organisational policies and management information systems
  • Experience of data quality management and awareness of ‘Right First Time’
  • Experience of working in a pressured busy environment with supervisory responsibilities
  • Supervisory or management experience
  • Awareness and understanding of NHS service, 18 week referral to treatment (RTT) and outpatient and cancer treatment pathways
  • Ability to work and promote Standard operating procedures / performance targets
  • Previous RTT / PTL validation and management experience
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word and Excel
Desirable criteria
  • Previous waiting list experience

Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 3 GCSE’s including English and Maths at Grade C or above or suitable equivalent qualification or equivalent experience
  • RSA III or NVQ III or suitable equivalent level administrative / supervisory qualification or equivalent experience
  • Proven competence in using admin and clinical systems e.g. PAS / MS Word / Excel / Outlook with excellent typing / keyboard skills
