Job overview
This role is based within our Clinical Therapies Admin Team.
A flexible approach to work is an essential part of the post, in line with Clinical Therapies Service Policy.
The Clinical Therapies Department is fully committed to effective appraisal and any training and development will be actively encouraged and supported.
Working with a team of highly committed staff, to provide a first class and effective reception and booking service within Clinical Therapies.
Main duties of the job
Provide administrative/reception service support to facilitate the patient pathway
Work flexibly across services to provide a booking service, process clinic changes, call centre cover, processing of referrals and undertaking a range of general admin tasks
Build and maintain close working relationships across the clinical administrative teams, using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to ensure functions of the role are carried out correctly and within given timescales.
Ensure accurate data recording using SystmOne and E-referral and other systems; and via the use of Patient Tracking Lists (PTLs) book outpatient/inpatient events in accordance with clinical instruction and national/local waiting time target dates.

Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience working in a clinical/administrative role
- Demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word
- Commitment to undergo training into RTT national and local waiting time rules
Desirable criteria
- Previous hospital or NHS experience working in a clerical/administrative role
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge and understanding of RTT National and local waiting time rules
- Knowledge of Trust Policies, including Patient Access Policy
Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade C or above or equivalent qualification.
Desirable criteria
- ECDL or equivalent qualification

Essential criteria
- Ability to deal calmly and diplomatically with a range of personalities and situations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A methodical and organised approach to work
- Time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines in a busy environment
