Clinical Educator (Maternity and Gynaecology)

Job overview
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, flexible and dynamic Midwife with a strong focus on Training and Education to take on the role of Clinical Educator aligned to Maternity & Gynaecology Specialities within the Children's and Families Division.
Working closely with the Education Lead, the successful candidate will support the planning and delivery of statutory essential and role specific training for all staff groups within the relevant specialties.
You will need to be a Registered Midwife with significant clinical experience and hold a level 6 degree qualification or evidence of working towards. You must be able to demonstrate excellence clinical and interpersonal skills. You should also have experience of supporting learners and hold a current mentorship qualification.
The Education department are committed to the delivery of high quality multi-professional training to enable the delivery of excellent patient care by having the right colleagues trained in the right skill at the right time. This exciting opportunity will support maintaining your clinical skills, working closely with the Maternity Division, but also in collaboration with other Divisions.
This position offers the successful applicant an opportunity to join a friendly, professional and patient focused team providing a Trust wide service shaping the quality of care fir the patients who access our facilities through the delivery of high quality, research based Training and Education.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Educator will plan, organise and co-ordinate training within their division. He/she will ensure that both individual staff and service needs are met and that the process for doing so conforms to organisational training and development objectives.
Working with the Division Education Lead you will ensure the provision of high quality training and development within the division across all sites within DBTH.
In conjunction with the Division Education Lead, the post holder will provide advice, guidance and support to staff within the designated directorate on training and education issues.
The post holder will be expected to work across boundaries, both internally and externally for the benefit of patient care and staff development, making a collective contribution to the Training and Education function across DBTH, sharing areas of expertise and best practice.
Participate in the regular networking events to ensure information is disseminated and lessons are learnt across the organisation liaising regularly with the Division Education Lead.
