An exciting opportunity has arisen, for the position of Band 6 Sister / Charge Nurse within the division of medicine.
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse to be part of the new leadership team on Ward 17.
This is a junior leadership role within the organization and the post holder will fully participate in both clinical and managerial duties on Ward 17. We need an experienced registered nurse with a high level of clinical expertise and interpersonal skills to provide clinical leadership on this new Medical ward. As part of the Division of medicine you will also work collaboratively across the whole division to deliver contemporary, caring and compassionate care to all patients.
We are looking for a forward thinking positive and motivated Senior Nurse to join the team. We would like applicants who are interested in developing their leadership and educational skills, and able to support the DBTH Inter-Professional Standards.
You will be an experienced nurse with clinical credibility and proven track record of service development and improvements in patient care.
Applicants for this role will have a keen interest in caring for acutely unwell patients, combined with an ability to provide care in a compassionate and dignified manner. The post holder needs to work well within a team and be able to lead staff to maintain standards in line with Trust and NMC guidelines.
Main duties of the job
The Sister/Charge Nurse will, by example and facilitation, guide, assist and empower nursing staff in fulfilling their professional role using research-based practice.
Identify strengths and weaknesses of individual clinical practitioners and liaise with Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to construct an appropriate development programme.
Support the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse in the day-to-day management of the ward.

- RN with current NMC registration
