The successful candidates will be enthusiastic about the challenges of a busy working and constantly changing environment, and must have the ability to remain calm under pressure .
Rotating to the new state of the art Community Diagnostic Service based at Montagu Hospital, you will demonstrate excellence in patient care. This is a demanding role, which will involve dealing with patients who are very ill or distressed, therefore good interpersonal skills are essential. You will be expected to work flexibly, participating in an extended 7-day service and will be required to travel to all sites as required. Working hours will be in line with the needs of the service, and may be subject to change in the future, therefore a flexible approach is essential.

Main duties of the job
With an improved staff structure and career development opportunities we are offering exciting and challenging opportunities for hard working and dynamic radiographers to join our friendly, dedicated and hardworking team MRI Team.
We are looking for enthusiasm, excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to support the MRI service. You must provide exceptional clinical and professional standards, consistently deliver the highest quality patient-focused care and demonstrate evidence of on-going CPD. A comprehensive training programme will be offered to radiographers wishing to specialise in this field.
Candidates should be HCPC registered and hold an appropriate qualification in Radiography. Training will be offered to applicants who demonstrate the requisite level of interest, motivation and commitment but have limited or no experience in MRI scanning. A flexible approach is essential in line with promoting the extended working day / week to benefit patient care.

Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
- DCR ® or BSc Diagnostic Radiography
- HCPC Registration
- Documented evidence of CPD
- ENIC statement of comparability
Desirable criteria
- Post Graduate Certificate (Masters Level) in MRI Imaging
Personal Attributes & Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to communicate complex information appropriate to the recipients level of understanding, empathise with and reassure patients/carers who may be distressed and equality of care to patients/carers regardless of medical or social issues.
- Ability to communicate with patients/carers where there are barriers to understanding (language, hearing, learning difficulties)
- Ability to deal with first line complaints (tact and diplomacy) and to work with people at all levels to provide equality of care
- Able to maintain patient/ staff confidentiality, to act with empathy, compassion and sensitivity
- Ability to work independently, to prioritise and organise both own workload and that of others through liaison with senior colleagues, ability to work under pressure Ability to accommodate the demands of the post (flexible working and good attendance)
- Able to travel independently between sites as required
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of staff mentoring / support
- Aware of national guidance regarding breaches for diagnostic waits including ED targets and 2ww pathways
- Adaptable to a changing environment, able to cope with the demands of evolving and sometimes unpredictable workload
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in an imaging department
- Experience across a range of imaging modalities
Desirable criteria
- 1 years post qualification experience
- Experience of Magnetic Resonance Imaging
- Demonstration of earlier interest in MRI Scanning
- Experience of ‘out of hours’ / oncall working
