Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a dedicated individual with a strong focus on Research and Quality Assurance to join our Research and Innovation team as a Research Quality Assurance Facilitator.
The Research and Innovation team forms part of the Education and Research Directorate at DBTH.
The post holder will have a key role in the development of the quality assurance systems to ensure the delivery of quality and compliant clinical research at DBTH.
Main duties of the job
The Research Quality Assurance Facilitator will be responsible for supporting the quality assurance (QA) schedule for DBTH
This will include the development and implementation, oversight and maintenance of a robust quality assurance agenda in R&I to ensure compliance with all systems and standards pertaining to clinical research regulations.
The post holder will work with Research Grant and Quality Lead to develop policies relating to research & innovation (R&I) activities and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in line with roles and responsibilities of the R&I Department and the Trust as sponsor.
The post holder will work with the R&I team, support departments, research delivery staff and researchers to ensure that all systems and standards pertaining to the QA audit schedule and clinical research are compliant with the regulations.

Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of managing incidents and clinical audits.
- Experience of analysing problems and identifying solutions.
- Experience in developing and/or maintaining Quality Management Systems.
Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level in a relevant biomedical or associated subject, or a graduate with high level of experience in clinical trials.
Personal Attributes & Skills
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable attention to detail and high standards of accuracy
- Ability to work on own initiative and problem solve. Capable of taking own decisions to organise the work of a professional team under management guidance.
- Working knowledge of the HRA, set-up and approval processes within the UK and devolved nations.
- Knowledge of the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research and other relevant legislation.
- Proven knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework which governs trial administration.
- Knowledge of research legislation including research governance, ICH GCP and Medicines for Human Use Regulations.
