The role of Service Assistant plays a key part of our patient experience. The successful candidate will work with our Service Assistants and will be jointly responsible for the cleanliness of Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
This is a physically demanding role with elements of reaching, crouching, operating cleaning equipment & mopping large surfaces etc, therefore candidates for this post are required to be relatively physically fit.

Essential criteria
- Numerate and literate.
- Communicates clearly in writing.
Desirable criteria
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Evidence of development, skills, knowledge and abilities.
- IT skills – Microsoft.
- Experience of using software systems.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Evidence of researching Service Assistant role.
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of professional cleaning, catering, portering services, working with the public, eg, customer services, retail.
- Experience/knowledge of Decontamination, eg, Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour/UVA.
Personal Attributes & Skills
Essential criteria
- Can communicate verbally with others clearly & courteously.
- Polite, reliable, responsible.
- Understands how to maintain good working relationships.
