To support the ODN Senior Information Manager in ensuring that high quality data is available to support the overall development, improved performance and service delivery of neonatal services across Yorkshire & Humber and the North East of England.

To be responsible for a portfolio of information based projects to meet local, regional and national priorities identified in the Operational Delivery Networks’ Annual Work Programme, National work streams and local initiatives.

To use advanced IT skills and appropriate analysis techniques to ensure data is collected, analysed and communicated appropriately.

To work with Provider units to improve overall data quality & to offer appropriate support to Provider units on relevant data collection systems such as BadgerNet, in order to help achieve this.

Carry out analysis, interpretation and presentation of health datasets & information to support decisions on health improvement, healthcare commissioning & delivery.

To work closely with the ODN Senior Information Manager and ODN Director, liaising with Provider Trusts to collect relevant & good quality data/information to support the work of the ODN & Provider Trusts.

To work closely with Provider Trusts and external software and system providers (including System C and any other emerging companies) to provide support, as appropriate, on neonatal data collection systems to ensure that all neonatal units are effectively using the system(s).

To work closely with Provider Trusts, system providers & the ODN to develop methods of validating data to improve the overall quality of data recorded within neonatal data capture systems.

To assist Providers to produce monthly reporting on topics such staffing compliance, gestation compliance and other mandated monitoring items.

To undertake analysis of clinical and performance data and produce reports in association with the Senior Information Manager.

Analyse data/information and present in formats suitable for different audiences.

To work closely with and support the ODN Senior Information Manager, ODN Director & ODN Clinical Leads to produce an Annual Network Report.  To co-ordinate the production of the report and circulate as required to all ODN stakeholders.

To produce monthly and quarterly network information and data reports in line with requests from the ODN Clinical Forums & ODN Executive Board, using appropriate data collection sources, methods and software, to include but not be limited to Microsoft Excel & Microsoft PowerBI.

To liaise with and provide support to all staff with a responsibility for collecting & recording data within the ODN provider Trusts.

To work with the ODN Senior Information Manager to provide good quality data to support the development of neonatal services and inform both local and national policy and good practice.

To facilitate groups, workshops and events as necessary to support the ODN and Provider Trusts.

To identify, engage and maintain involvement and collaboration with all key stakeholders including multi-disciplinary clinical teams and senior managers within NHSE, the ODN Executive Board, LMNS’ & Provider Trusts, to support the improvement of data quality and reporting around neonatal services.

To be a key member and work closely with one or more Core ODN Teams coordinating and ensuring delivery of specific annual work programmes.

To develop and manage communications between Provider Trusts and software & system providers, ensuring that information is relevant, accurate, timely and distributed appropriately with stakeholders as required.

To collect, analyse, interpret and communicate complex service data and information relevant to own area of work.

To ensure appropriate creation and use of information distribution platforms, including, but not limited to NHS Futures, SharePoint and ODN website. Maintaining ongoing and effective distribution of ODN information and resources with all appropriate stakeholders.

To travel as and when required across Yorkshire & the Humber in order to effectively carry out duties associated with own area of work.

To effectively manage competing priorities given the complexity of the multi-disciplinary, multi-organisation, multi-speciality environment.

To be proactive in continuing personal development.

Qualifications

  • Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) holder or ability to demonstrate ability to use a wide range of hardware and software in order to effectively carry out the role
