Fixed Term: 12 months | 2 positions available - 37.5 hrs / 22.5hrs

We're looking for an enthusiastic Radiographer to join our dedicated and welcoming paediatric Radiology team. You'll work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver a high-quality, child-centred diagnostic imaging service across Sheffield and surrounding areas.

About You:

  • HCPC registered with a DCR(R)/Radiography Degree or equivalent.

  • Evidence of CPD and reflective practice.

  • Paediatric radiography experience

  • Specialist imaging experience desirable (e.g., CT, DEXA, and Fluoroscopy)

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the X-ray Imaging Lead, your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver a high-quality, efficient paediatric diagnostic imaging service as part of the radiography team at Sheffield Children's Hospital.

  • Perform a range of paediatric imaging examinations across multiple modalities, ensuring compliance with IRR 2017 and IR(ME)R 2017.

  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and child-friendly environment throughout all procedures.

  • Participate in a 24-hour on-call/shift rota, covering plain film, CT, theatre, and fluoroscopic imaging.

  • Work without direct supervision, reporting to Lead Radiographers.

Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • HCPC registration
  • DCR(R) / Degree in Radiography or recognised equivalent
  • Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including reflective practice.
Desirable criteria
  • Interest or CPD aimed at paediatric radiology imaging

Knowledge & skills

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of radiation protection legislation
  • To undertake further appropriate training to develop knowledge and skill as the post requires
  • Awareness for health and safety requirements
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and its implications for services
  • Understanding of data protection, confidentiality and health and safety requirements in meeting the needs of the child and family
  • Understanding of information governance
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of consent issues specific to paediatrics
  • Simple research methodology
  • Involvement in audit, research or service evaluation

Personal Attributes

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Competent I.T skills
  • Ability to keep accurate and legible clinical records
  • Ability to cope working in a stressful environment and within emotional or challenging situations.

Experience

  • Evidence of interest / experience in working in paediatric radiography
  • Experience in working as part of a team
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in co-ordinating a clinical area
  • Leadership skills in a clinical area/modality
  • Working in CT
