Job overview

Permanent | Full time

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our busy Radiology department. You'll help ensure the smooth running of administrative processes to support our clinical services, patient care, and operational efficiency.

About Us: Our team has around 70 staff, including Consultant Radiologists, Sonographers, Radiographers (MRI, X-ray, Nuclear Medicine), Radiographic Aides, and administrative teams. We provide different diagnostic services including MRI, CT, ultrasound, echocardiograms, DEXA, and plain film X-rays for inpatients, outpatients, and walk-in referrals. As a regional and national specialist service provider, we work with departments across the hospital and beyond to deliver high-quality care.

What you'll bring:

  • Excellent communication, IT, and customer service skills

  • Empathy and sensitivity to the needs of patients

  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team

  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations and respond sensitively to occasionally upsetting scenarios

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the PACS/RIS Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide clerical support including data entry, appointment booking, dealing with post, scanning, shredding, and minute taking

  • Handle telephone and email queries, including complaints, with professionalism and empathy

  • Process referrals and register patients, including those referred externally, using hospital systems and the National Summary Care Record

  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the dignity of patients and colleagues

  • Communicate with patients, carers, staff, and external agencies

  • Support with coordinating scan sessions, and liaising with clinical teams for general anaesthetic requirements
