As hosts of both an NIHR Commercial Research Delivery Centre and a Health Tech Research Centre, we are leaders in driving innovation and evidence-based care for children and young people.

We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our team as a Research Support Assistant. You will support Investigators and the Clinical Research Facility (CRF) Delivery Team with the set-up, ongoing management, and close-out of research studies sponsored or hosted by the Trust. Your work will help ensure research is delivered efficiently, ethically, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.

What we're looking for:

  • Educated to Degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.

  • Comprehensive administrative/data management experience.

  • Excellent IT skills

  • Able to communicate in verbal and written formats, prioritise workload and meet agreed delivery timeframes.

  • Awareness of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and relevant research governance frameworks

Main duties of the job

You will report to the R&D Manager, and your responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and submit documentation to regulatory authorities including HRA, REC, and MHRA

  • Ensure confirmation of capacity and capability for Trust-hosted and led studies

  • Support regulatory inspection readiness and adherence to GCP, the Research Governance Framework, and Trust SOPs

  • Maintain research information systems and contribute to data collection and reporting for internal and external review.

  • Build working relationships with researchers, support services, and external partners

  • Provide guidance to new and experienced staff on research management and compliance
