At Sheffield Children's we are dedicated to advancing research excellence and new ideas. Our team supports researchers in securing funding that creates impactful projects and solutions. We are looking for a dynamic, proactive colleague to join our team and help expand our funding opportunities.
You will help support researchers by identifying funding opportunities, managing proposal submissions, and building relationships with funding agencies, supporting the entire lifecycle of research grant applications—from pre-award to post-award phases. Your work will involve collaboration across multiple departments, offering resources and guidance to enhance funding proposals.
If you are passionate about supporting research projects and have experience with the grant application process then this role may interest you.
Join us in a meaningful role that directly supports research and helps secure funding for projects to shape the future of children and young people's healthcare.
Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Associate Director for R&I, your main responsibilities will include:
- Research Grant Support: Provide guidance, oversight, and hands-on support to ensure that all research proposals meet the highest standards
- Funding Coordination: Collaborate with The Children’s Hospital Charity to coordinate research funding calls, contributing to impactful research that advances healthcare.
- Process Management: Oversee grant applications, awards, and projects to ensure seamless administration, from initiation to completion, following the established requirements and procedures of the Trust.

As we approach our 150th anniversary this year, we’re excited to keep building our leadership in children's health, improve experiences for patients and staff, and focus on our communities and population health.
We also offer excellent benefits to support your wellbeing, with generous annual leave and pension schemes, health and wellbeing programmes, and exclusive discounts — helping you thrive at work and beyond.
