An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Research and Innovation Team at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust as a Research Nurse.

Please note that, for this role, all applicants are required to hold current NMC registration.

As a key member of our Clinical Research Facility (CRF) Team, you'll help deliver a diverse and expanding portfolio of research studies. These range from early-phase trials to complex multi-centre studies, offering children and young people access to innovative and potentially life-changing treatments.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse eager to deepen their understanding of clinical research and make a meaningful impact in paediatric healthcare.

You'll work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment, supporting participants and families throughout their research journey.

About You

  • Degree or Diploma Level Education as Registered Nurse (ideally RN Child or RSCN) or Midwife Post registration work experience.

  • Awareness, understanding and an appetite to support clinical research delivery across Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Clinical Trials Unit Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Recruitment, education and monitoring of research participants and the collection and documentation of accurate data.

  • Responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways for patients and carers participating in clinical trials.

  • Deliver skilled, independent care to research participants, including patients and healthy volunteers

  • Coordinate patient journeys through complex clinical trials, including CTIMPs, ensuring protocol-driven investigations and tests are organised
