Job overview

This is a key role that provides administrative support to the Senior Sisters and ward staff.

To apply for this position you should have proven experience on a ward, be competent in IT,  be able to demonstrate that you can work independently and use your initiative to prioritise and complete conflicting demands in a timely and effective manner.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and team working are essential for this role. You will report directly to the nurse in charge but will have key relationships with the nursing team and clinical team looking after each patient.

Main duties of the job

To support the nursing team in the Cardiac Catheter Suite in the provision of a comprehensive administration service.

To maintain the patient administration, maintain outcomes of the board round.

To assist in all administration duties.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE at Grade 4/C in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications) or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ Level II in Business Administration / Customer Service / IT

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working within an office environment
  • Experience of working in a public facing role.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience within the NHS

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of data protection issues and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to deal with staff at all levels.
  • Displays use of initiative with effective organisational skill
  • Ability to prioritise and work to strict/conflicting deadlines

Further Training
