An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a full-time job share opportunity within the Frailty Assessment/SDEC Unit and HOOH at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, for a qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Band 7/8a depending on experience.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop new clinical experience, skills and knowledge across the entire spectrum of the hospital out of hours and within Frailty Assessment Unit and SDEC.

 

Main duties of the job

The role provides specialist assessment and management of patients across our Frailty Assessment Unit, Frailty Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and the HOOH Team under the supervision of a dynamic and supportive consultant body.

The successful candidate should have a friendly, compassionate and sensitive manner with a genuine desire and passion to help people. As this is a challenging role you must have the ability to demonstrate patience and empathy, with a good range of clinical skills, inspiring confidence and trust to all patients.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • (Band 7/8a) Registered Nurse with Valid NMC registration or Health Care Professional and registered with HCPC with relevant clinical experience
  • (Band 7/8a) 1st Degree or equivalent experience
  • (Band 7/8a) MSc in Advanced Practice (or equivalent qualification) (or due to complete in the next 6 months)
  • (Band 7/8a) Non-Medical Prescriber
Desirable criteria
  • (Band 7/8a) Evidence of further education
  • (Band 7/8a) Teaching qualification
  • (Band 7/8a) Advanced Communications Course

Experience

Essential criteria
  • (Band 7/8a) Significant relevant experience as qualified ACP
  • (Band 7/8a) Evidence of teaching within an Advanced Practice setting
  • (Band 7/8a) Evidence of supporting educational development of Trainee ACP’s
  • (Band 7/8a) Significant experience in Acute inpatient environments
Desirable criteria
  • (Band 7/8a) Experience in teaching position/environment
  • (Band 7/8a) Experience in managing frail patients
