Job overview
The directorate of ENT OMFS is looking for a remarkable person to work alongside our multi-disciplinary team to deliver an excellent service to all patients who are referred to the Directorate for specialist care.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a commitment to service improvement and a commitment to their own professional development.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery team and be heavily involved within the patients Inpatient and USC pathways (Urgent Suspicion of Cancer).
This post will be key in the day to day management of the Ward based service, providing patients with a more efficient pathway through their Acute and USC journey. Ensuring we are offering patients the best possible treatment plan within a reduced timescale, all delivered to a high standard.
You will work closely with several groups of Clinical staff ranging from Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeons to Clinical Nurse Specialists to Dental Core Trainees and Foundation Year Doctors. Having a hand in the organisation of Outpatient clinics and Minor Oral Surgery lists, monitoring Diagnostic Test results and Treatment wait lists. The successful candidate will be integral in helping to shape the service as it grows and will provide valuable input into streamlining processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

- Experience of working in a patient facing clerical role within the NHS.
- Experience of working with the public.
- Experience of Patient Administration Systems
- Excellent computer skills including standard office packages and e-mail.
- Experience of delivering 1-1 training.
- Experience of working effectively with colleagues from a range of disciplines and levels of seniority.
- Experience of exercising initiative and demonstrating innovative approaches within overall delegated responsibility and parameters.
