We are looking to appoint one part time, 6PA, substantive Consultant Rheumatologist to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

Main duties of the job
The appointee will, together with consultant colleagues, be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive Rheumatology Service.
The successful candidate will work flexibly and co-operatively with other members of the team in order to provide a high quality, comprehensive service within this teaching hospital environment. To minimise travel between sites the job plan has been designed to ensure that wherever possible the successful candidate will be based at one site each day.
The successful candidate will work according to the terms and conditions of the new consultant contract. We are looking to continue our work as a Specialised Rheumatology centre.

Qualification
Essential criteria
- Full and Specialist registration (with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC), or be eligible for registration within six months of interview
- Name on the specialist register for relevant specialty or eligible within 6 months of the date of the interview If an applicant is UK trained, they must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
- MRCP or equivalent
- Rheumatology Specialist Exam
Desirable criteria
- MD or PhD or equivalent
Clinical experience
Essential criteria
- Ability to work as an independent practitioner in the specialty of Rheumatology
- Possess broad clinical experience general Rheumatology
Teaching and training
Essential criteria
- Experience of teaching student doctors and doctors in training at all levels.
- Experience of teaching/training other clinical professionals.
Continuous Professional Development
Essential criteria
- Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months.
- Experience of appraisal or equivalent overseas arrangements.
- Ability to organise own learning and time.
- Commitment to life-long learning
Desirable criteria
- Maintenance of a CPD diary or portfolio.
- Membership of appropriate specialist societies.
Management and Administration
Essential criteria
- Evidence of the understanding of the systems and structures of NHS Management.
- Evidence of ability to work with management and previous experience of management groups.
