Job overview

An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Cardiac Physiologist/Scientist to progress their career in our BSE Accredited Department at Bassetlaw Hospital. You will be enthusiastic, professional, compassionate and competent with a willingness to contribute ideas to provide the very best patient-centred care.

Main duties of the job

The post will involve working in an established team of Cardiac Physiologists providing high quality diagnostics across the cardiac pathways. You will work primarily in transthoracic echocardiography with the opportunity to develop skills in our scientist-led services (contrast lists, oncology lists and valve clinics). There will be occasional requirement to rotate through general sections of the cardiology service including ambulatory ECG analysis. 

Our department is an approved training centre for the National School of Healthcare Science and supports the training of a wide range of programmes including PTP, ETP, STP and apprentices. Continued professional and personal development is actively encouraged and the postholder will be given opportunities and supported to develop their own postgraduate skills alongside to contributing to the delivery of training within the service.

Applicants should be independent in adult echocardiography/reporting, and hold BSE accreditation.

  • Minimum 1 year experience after achieving BSE Accreditation – performing & reporting echocardiograms
