An exciting opportunity has arisen for 3 WTE enthusiastic Advanced Training Fellow in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. This post will provide an excellent chance to further develop your skills in both Obstetrics and/or Gynaecology.
There are 3 posts - 1 - Advanced Laparoscopic Fellow with Lapaoscopic Simulation - 2. Obstetric & Gynaecology Leadership & Management fellow 3. Ambulatory Gynaecology Fellow.
The department has a strong reputation in numerous areas such Urogynaecology, Gynae-oncology, Fetal Medicine, Ambulatory Gynaecology and BSGE accredited Endometriosis Centre as well as a centre of excellence for both undergraduate and postgraduate education
The department’s gynaecological and obstetric practice is diverse. Emergency gynaecology services and early pregnancy unit are supervised through the on-call Gynaecologist as well as the Gynaecologist of the Morning. Clinical responsibilities will include attending outpatient clinics, inpatient and day case theatre sessions, Labour ward/maternal
assessment unit.
Services are covered over two sites - Royal Stoke and County Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The department’s gynaecological and obstetric practice is diverse. Emergency gynaecology services and early pregnancy unit are supervised through the on-call Gynaecologist as well as the Gynaecologist of the Morning. Daily clinical responsibilities will include both Obstetrics & Gynaecology. You will be covering Labour Ward, Gynae wards, outpatient clinics, inpatient and day case theatre sessions and Antenatal clinics. The post will be part of the 1:12 senior registrar On-call rota (which will be subject to change as we recruit).
Should the candidate require continued training and assessment, we can offer the following ATSM training as post CCT:- Fetal Medicine, Maternal Medicine, Advanced Labour Ward, Labour Ward Leadership and Gynae-oncology. Other ATSMs maybe negotiable after discussion. All ATSM’s can be provided within the RCOG ATSM framework.

The successful candidates should have a special interest and qualifications in Gynae Simulation, Obstetric Simulation and CNST interest

The University Hospital North Midlands offers services at both the Royal Stoke and County Hospital sites; this post shall cover clinical activity in both areas.
You will participate in the Senior registrar Tier on-call rota which is currently 1:12 but may be subject to change as we recruit.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- MBBS
- MRCOG Part 2
- Full GMC Registration
Desirable criteria
- • Completed MRCOG
Skills
Essential criteria
- • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, senior medical staff and other health professionals Proficient and efficient handling of relevant Obstetrics and Gynaecology problems with evidence of safe sound practical procedures
- Ability to organise and prioritise busy workloads effectively and cope under pressure
- • Proven ability to work as a member of a team
Desirable criteria
- Counselling, advanced communication or related qualification/training
- Proven ability to lead a team and demonstrate initiative

Clinical Experience

- Experience at ST5 + level (Senior Registrar)
