Consultant Head & Neck Surgeon

Consultant

Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and experience consultant to join our expert team of Consultant Head & Neck Surgeons across our Max Fac and ENT services. This post would be suitable for both OMFS and ENT trained consultants.

This is a 10 PA post including on-call.

Candidates who wish to work a different number of programmed activities to that specified in the current job plan will be considered for this post, with negotiation on the content of the job plan on an individual basis. Candidates who wish to apply as part of a job share arrangement will also be considered.

The Royal Surrey is proud to have an enthusiastic and dynamic team of Head & Neck Surgeons who share the common goal of providing excellent clinical care. The department is a busy regional referral unit for Head and Neck Cancer cases from hospitals in Surrey and North Hampshire.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the existing head and neck team providing subspecialist skills in oral cancer management including, resection and microvascular reconstruction, in addition to providing outpatient clinics, GA and LA operating lists as well as on call provision.

On-Call:

The current on call commitment will be a 1 in 8 rotation.  You will participate in an on call rota as one of the team of 8 consultants. The job plan may need to be adjusted to reflect the intensity of the on call commitment. This attracts an on call availability supplement of 5% pro rata for less than full time commitment to the on call rota.
