Job overview
The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the Lead Resuscitation Officer in the expert education, formal classroom training and strategic delivery of resuscitation services across the Trust.
Based in Leatherhead with supported hybrid working.
Main duties of the job
Deliver resuscitation and clinical skills training programmes to ensure mandatory and statutory resuscitation training compliance is maintained.
Provide resuscitation training sessions across trust sites and within partner organisations if required.
To influence patient and clinical safety though the delivery of effective education and assessment programmes to ensure the safe use of equipment
To act as part of the clinical skills education team to support the delivery of clinical skills and awareness training primarily first aid.
Be fully conversant with the operation of all resuscitation equipment used within the trust both clinically, in training and follow up.
To work with the education team to schedule provision of courses, considering demand and capacity, areas of high need /low compliance.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Deliver resuscitation and clinical skills training programmes to ensure mandatory and statutory resuscitation training needs for all relevant staff are maintained in accordance with Trust Policy and Resuscitation training needs analysis
- Provide resuscitation training sessions across trust sites and within partner organisations if required.
- Support the continued development of a high quality resuscitation service through validation and review of training programmes and outcomes.
- To prepare and maintain equipment for teaching sessions and provide a safe effective learning environment.
- To influence patient and clinical safety though the delivery of effective education and assessment programmes to ensure the safe use of equipment
- To facilitate drills / emergency simulations across the trust and then evaluate and take any remedial action to ensure staff achieve and maintain required resuscitation skills competence to improve the quality of patient care.
- Assist in the development, review and improvement of course content, ensuring delivery of programmes that meet Resuscitation Council (UK) standards.
- To act as part of the clinical skills education team to support the delivery of clinical skills and awareness training primarily first aid.
- Attend and actively participate in relevant meeting as required
- To act as a role model enhancing the knowledge of others in issues relating to clinical skills and to promote health & safety and risk assessment.
- To be able to apply knowledge, skills and practice within mental health and learning disability services.
- Work to support and promote educational innovation across the Trust
- Ensure all training provided is recorded, monitored, evaluated and reported. Supporting the Advanced Practitioner – Medical Emergencies and Resus Officer.
- Support the development of multimedia technology based educational resources, simulation and human factors training.
- To assist with the maintenance and audits of emergency equipment across the trust
- Take personal responsibility for professional, mandatory and statutory development and keeping up to date with resuscitation and clinical skills developments.
- Be fully conversant with the operation of all resuscitation equipment used within the trust both clinically, in training and follow up.
- To work with the education team to schedule provision of courses, considering demand and capacity, areas of high need /low compliance.
- From time to time support the delivery of other training courses within the wider team.

- • Recognised teaching/instructor qualification or work towards
- • ILS Instructor (ILSi) - work towards
- • Resuscitation / Medical Emergency relevant qualification

- Previous experience working in a clinical practice environment

- Experience of working in a fast paced dynamic team
