Specialty Doctor in Stroke Medicine

Surrey & Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust are seeking to appoint a Specialty Doctor of ST3 level or above to join our Stroke Service. The post-holder will join the well-established department  and deliver excellent Stroke Care on Hazelwood and Bletchingley Stroke Unit for one year fixed term in the first instance, with the possibility to extend.

We are looking for applicants with experience in Stroke Medicine and acute and/or general internal medicine who have excellent team-working skills with the abilities/professional skills to work well in a multi-professional team.

This post would suit doctors who have a keen interest in education and there will be opportunities for simulation training, teaching and quality improvement work.

Based at East Surrey Hospital, the post-holder will be a key senior member of the Stroke medicine team with a clear role in ensuring comprehensive care for their inpatients, providing acute assessment on presentation and working as a key part of the Multidisciplinary team.

This post is based on the expanded and developing Stroke Unit, involving delivering excellent care in Hyperacute Stroke,  Acute Stroke and Early Rehabilitation,  and TIA medicine under the supervision of the Consultants.
