Senior Project Manager

Job overview

Two permanent posts, plus one fixed term/secondment post for 12 months due to funding. If you are a Swansea Bay University Health Board employee the fixed term post will only be offered on a secondment basis, and you will need to have gained your line managers approval for the secondment prior to submitting your application.

Digital Services at Swansea Bay University Health Board are seeking to appoint two permanent Senior Project Managers to the Digital Programmes department, plus one fixed term/secondment post for 12 months due to funding.

 

Reporting to a Digital Programme Manager, the successful candidate will work alongside clinical colleagues, Digital Product Specialists, Systems Developers, IT Trainers, QA Analysts to ensure successful implementations. The post holder will also be required to work closely with DHCW (Digital Health Care in Wales).

The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology and its use to improve the quality of care and patient safety. You will be enthusiastic, highly motivated and able to demonstrate delivery of complex projects using PRINCE2. Post holders will also be required to undertake business analysis, identifying opportunities to streamline processes through the introduction of digital technology.

Previous experience of using, administering and/or project managing implementations of clinical information systems would be advantageous.

 

Main duties of the job

Lead, manage and ensure the successful delivery of projects, or work streams of moderate complexity and risk, ensuring that projects produce the required products, to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost.  Project areas include: 

Projects identified as part of the Health Board’s Digital Strategy, which will involve planning a broad range of activities and new ways of working and implementing in-house developed and/or externally procured products

Collaboration on Nationally led projects with Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) and other Health Boards

Support of service modernisation through the implementation of technology

Business change management

Provide an expert project management framework for project teams

Provide mentoring and training for the Project Team including Project Officers and Product Specialists as appropriate

Responsible for the production of plans, documentation, support, guidance and training for project teams and staff within and across sites throughout the project lifecycle

Digital Services are integral to the delivery of the Health Board’s digital strategy, and the directorate plays a key role in supporting thousands of staff to provide effective services. We help clinical staff manage and monitor patients throughout their care and support Health Board staff to review and redesign the range of services provided.

  • Educated to Postgraduate Diploma level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continued professional Development
  • Project and/or Programme management office qualification, PRINCE2, MSP or equivalent experience

  • Masters level qualification
