Job overview
The post holder will be responsible for providing the strategic direction, leadership and vision regarding the planning and implementation of the Paediatric pathway for major trauma within the South Wales Trauma Network.
This role will be expected to work closely with:
- Clinical Director for the network.
- Network Manager
- Clinical and managerial leads within each stakeholder organisation across the network including the paediatric lead in the Major Trauma Centre (MTC).
Main duties of the job
The specific responsibilities of the job includes:
- Report into the network governance structures as required.
- Oversee review of clinical governance issues from across the network pertaining to Paediatric Trauma, ensuring lessons are learnt and that it informs a process of clinical audit, risk management and continuous quality improvement.
- Attend case quality review and governance meetings pertaining to Paediatric trauma inviting participation from across the network.
- Lead review and development of new and existing policies against changes in evidence base and standards.
- Review of trauma network dashboard (including validated data from the National Major Trauma Registry (NMTR) to inform areas of improvement and risk.
- Encourage and facilitate communication across professional boundaries to ensure a seamless provision of major trauma services.
- Support the production of reports used for performance management of the network including an annual report.
- Participate in annual network peer review, ensuring learning informs a process of continuous quality improvement.
