Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for registered Midwives to join the Maternity Services of Swansea Bay University Health Board as Band 6 Midwife.

The successful applicant must have knowledge and experience of all aspects of Midwifery practice and will be expected to provide supportive care to women throughout all stages of pregnancy.

 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to provide supportive care to women throughout all stages of pregnancy and childbirth either within a geographical area or the hospital setting.

Ensuring women have access to midwifery support, expertise and advice on a 24-hour basis. The post holder is designated to take charge regularly of a ward or equivalent sphere of midwifery.

The post Holder will maintain active NMC registration meeting all revalidation requirements.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Appropriate registration with NMC
  • Educated to degree level
  • Completion of the new Midwives competency programme - if applicable
  • Evidence of recent CPD

Experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of current maternity service issues
