Job overview
An opportunity has arisen in the Cardiothoracic Services Directorate to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic MDT Administrator. The Cardiothoracic Services Directorate is a regional and national centre of excellence for cardiac and respiratory care, providing some of the Trust’s flagship services. We are one of the top units in the UK, providing specialist treatment for all types of heart and respiratory related conditions in adults and children across two sites.

Main duties of the job
This role is crucial in the tracking and management of all patients requiring treatment and possible surgery. You will be responsible for updating patient’s records, liaising with clinical and non-clinical professional staff for the preparation and administration of the MDT Meetings and co-ordinating key events along the patient’s pathway. We are looking for an individual who can work collaboratively with other services with particular attention to detail and accurate data input.
You must be confident and assertive and have the ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure. You will have good listening and communication skills and be able to deal with people both internally and externally, in a sensitive and professional manner. The ability to main confidentially and adhere to Trust policies is paramount.
Excellent team working, organisational and communication skills are all essential for this post.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Co-ordinates the regional and site specific MDT meetings
- Navigates the patients cancer journey ensuring this takes place in a timely fashion
- Ensure patient data is entered correctly and in a timely manner, producing reports as appropriate
- Effective liaison with departments within the Trust, developing efficient working relationships and promoting the effective use of information services.
- To support the multi-disciplinary Cardiothoracic team to support timely patient care and documentation and recording of patient outcomes.
- Provides secretarial support to the MDT (typing of clinic letters, minute taking etc.

- NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience
- Typing qualification to RSA level 3 (or equivalent) or relevant experience
