Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a reliable, motivated and flexible individual to join Community Services and be part of the Administration Team.

The post holder will work 18 hours over a two week rota, to include every other weekend working 5pm-10pm, providing support to Community Nursing, working with the Single Point of Access Team based at Regent Point receiving calls from patients, carers, relatives, Health Professionals and other service users.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work alongside other clerical staff to evaluate and prioritise workload in a busy environment and respond to the constantly changing needs of the service users in line with local and national targets. They will  provide a high standard of admin support to clinical staff handling telephone calls, using  electronic health record SystmOne  and receiving requests from patients, carers and service users as well as professionals.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To provide a high standard of support to Clinical staff handling telephone calls.
  • To use an electronic referral process (SystmOne) to ensure requests are responded to in a professional, confidential and efficient manner.
  • To receive requests from patients and carers, acute hospitals, GP practices, Social Services and health care agencies.
  • To communicate directly with members of the public and other services.
  • To abide by Trust policies and procedures
  • To be an effective part of the team contributing to the departmental objectives.
  • Post holder will be expected to contribute to housekeeping and other office duties as required e.g. general tidiness, pre-determined stock levels are met and equipment is clean, and stored correctly.
