This is an exciting opportunity to work for the Emergency Department based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary.

We’re seeking enthusiastic, motivated, and reliable individuals to be the heart of our team, providing essential administrative support for our busy Emergency Department and Minor Injury Unit reception desks.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and processing skills. You will be required to work within a large multi-disciplinary team and be capable of undertaking a demanding workload. You should be familiar and confident with Microsoft office packages, and experience of working within the NHS would be advantageous. Knowledge of e-Record would be desirable. Full training will be given.

Post 1 - 2 x 37.5hr (5 x 7.5hr shifts)
Post 2 - 4 x 18hr (3 x 16:00-22:00

Main duties of the job
Duties include patient registration via the units electronic systems, admission of patients via hospital system filing, photocopying, telephone enquiries, making of clinic appointments, processing of daily documentation, as well as face to face enquires from the general public, patients, visitors and staff.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To support the provision of an efficient reception / patient records / admin and clerical service within the operational services department.
- To ensure patient documents are prepared, updated and delivered to the ward in a timely manner.
- Provide information to patients, relatives and staff.
- Deal with telephone enquires promptly.
- To provide assistance and guidance to the patients/visitors on arrival to the Hospital.
- To contribute to a consistently high standard of patient care as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- To ensure that data input is amended as necessary to comply with departmental target requirements
