Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Checks
Many of the roles we advertise have a requirement for a DBS check to be carried out. If you are successful for a role and it requires a DBS check the Trust will carry out the initial check and subscription to the DBS Update Service, however successful candidates will be expected to cover the associated costs . Details of this will be sent to successful candidates in their offer letter.
Probationary Period
All new staff to the Trust will be subject to a standard 6 month probationary period, the details of which will duly follow in your contract of employment.

Agile and Flexible Working
All our staff will have a work base. However the Trust operates as an Agile Working Team therefore staff may be working from home on a regular basis as required by the service. However, occasionally travel around Warwickshire and into your base will be required so access to your own transport would be helpful.
The Trust also welcome staff to work flexibly and we would welcome the conversation at interview regarding flexible working.

Resident Trust Specialist Higher in Emergency Medicine - MT05
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Emergency Department at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust as we look to expand our team of Trust Grades.
This position is for experienced doctors currently working at Registrar level, looking to continue their work and development in Emergency Medicine with the support and guidance from our EM Consultants.
Our Emergency Department sees approximately 100,000 patients annually. The main department provides a full range of facilities, including a dedicated minor injuries area.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work on a shift basis with the other Emergency Medicine Doctors to provide cover in the Emergency Department 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The post holder will practice clinically assessing patients and initiating treatments whilst taking lead of the shift, providing effective coordination and supervision of junior staff by appropriate deployment, delegation and provision of specialist advice and guidance.
Other principal elements of the post include:
- Leading the ED shop floor in an EPIC role overnight with a consultant on-call from home
- Assessing and initiating treatment for patients in the department.
- Ensuring investigations are requested and acted upon appropriately.
- Seeking advice and support from Consultants where appropriate.
- Referring to other specialities or facilities where appropriate.

Professional Experience
Essential criteria
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working at Registrar level in Emergency Medicine
- NHS experience of delivering an EPIC role in independently leading ED shifts overnight
Desirable criteria
- Broad experience in Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetics, General Medicine, General Surgery, Paediatrics and Orthopaedics
- Experience of providing Medical Education
Academic Achievements
Essential criteria
- Registration with the GMC
- Evidence of Continual Professional Development
- ALS, ATLS, APLS or PALS certification

- Research experience
