Job overview

The Administration Manager is responsible for assisting the PSM to
ensure that a high standard comprehensive day to day support
service is provided within each team across all Surgical and
Diagnostic Division. This includes the overall line management
responsibility of all Medical Secretaries and Administration
Assistants, , across the Administration Teams; including the direct
supervision and line management of the Admin Hub Team Leaders
/Medical Secretaries who act as a point of contact to the staff in the
administration hub in which they work. The post holder will assist the
PSMs in overseeing the support framework within all areas across
the service to ensure that all consultants and their teams are always
supported to a high standard. The Administration Manager will lead a
programme of quality improvement with the Admin Team in line with
the strategic objectives of Surgical and Diagnostic Division.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Working knowledge of human resources policies/procedures and staff supervision
  • Knowledge of Information Governance
  • Knowledge of Confidentiality
  • Have an understanding of Surgical Services
  • Extensive knowledge of a range of admin procedures, systems and quality monitoring

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good general level of education (to GCSE level or equivalent to include Maths and English grade C of above)
  • ECDL Qualification or equivalent in IT systems
  • Business Admin Level 4 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Project management qualification
  • Quality improvement qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of providing high quality administrative support
  • Experience of effective team working
  • Significant experience of managing, supervising or supporting other staff
  • Experience of undertaking performance development reviews
  • Experience of setting up and maintaining administrative systems and processes
  • Experience of organising competing demands and workloads
Desirable criteria
  • Use of SystmOne (S1)
  • Use of CERNER
