Job Overview: The Early Intervention in Psychosis assessment team has an exciting part-time opportunity for an experienced Nurse prescriber to join its well-established, high-performing assessment team as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP). The team is responsible for undertaking assessments for individuals between age of 17-65 who may be presenting with a First Episode Psychosis or are at risk of psychosis across the Bradford districts and comprises of a range of mental health professionals dedicated to offering timely assessment of need.

This is a 15-hour-per-week job share, working Thursdays and Fridays from 09:00 to 17:00 alongside our existing ACP who works Monday to Wednesday. The role is predominantly clinical practice-based face-to-face assessment of individuals aged 16–65 to determine clinical need. The ACP is the lead prescriber, working closely with the team, offering clinical expertise and advice on Mental health assessment, Risk management and the care and treatment of those referred. The role is supported with regular consultation, supervision and CPD alongside the wider EIP service consultant psychiatrists.

We are looking for a skilled practitioner with a background within secondary mental health who takes a collaborative approach to working and has a drive to support and develop others in the triage, assessment and formulation of need.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

  • To undertake autonomous evidence-based clinical decisions and interventions,
  • Support the triage and assessment of individuals suspected of having an at-risk mental state or experiencing a first episode of psychosis.
  • Support the formulation and signpost individuals to appropriate services.
  • Proactively plan and provide tailored care packages for individuals, families, and carers experiencing first episode psychosis.
  • Supervise and support junior team members and colleagues.

Establish close working relationships with staff in primary care, secondary care, social care, and voluntary organizations.
