Job overview
The post will be based on the Occupational Therapy Post Grad Development Scheme, which is run in partnership between Bradford District Care Foundation Trust and Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.
The band 5 development scheme is managed as a partnership between Bradford District Care Trust and Airedale NHS Foundation Trust. It provides opportunities to work in a variety of physical and mental health teams, as well as a specialist learning disability team in the Bradford and Airedale localities. The post holder will be responsible for negotiating their secondments with the scheme co coordinators in order to develop their own career pathway.

Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity for occupational therapists to gain a broad range of experience across mental and physical health, acute and community and with people of all ages.
Occupational Therapists on the scheme rotate through 16 different placements with BDCFT and Airedale Foundation NHS Trust.
These include in Mental Health: Acute in-patients, Low Secure Services, CAMHS , Adult and Older Peoples CMHTs and Learning Disabilities and in Physical Health: Acute Medical and Surgery, Collaborative Care Team, Community Rehabilitation, Cardio-Respiratory, Stroke/Neuro and Child Development Services.
In each area of practice the job purpose is to manage a case load with the support and supervision of a senior occupational therapist:
- Utilising the evidence base and specialist occupational knowledge and skills
- Prioritising own workload and managing time effectively
- Contributing to team and service developments
- Being involved in supporting students and assistants with their development and learning
- Adopting working hours in accordance with the team requirements
