This permanent post will expand our consultant body to 13
Radiologists (14 pending recruitment to our Consultant Radiologist with interest in MSK Radiology vacancy), reflecting our commitment to strengthening and investing in our Imaging services. Within our lung and cardiac specialties, this role will help grow our dedicated teams—bringing the lung radiology team to 2 consultants and cardiac-trained radiologists to 2 substantive consultants—ensuring robust expertise and excellent continuity of care for our patients.
We are open to accepting applications from those candidates who
are in the process of completing CESR, offers will be conditional pending successful completion of CESR.

Main duties of the job
In this role, you will contribute your expertise across the full spectrum of
diagnostic and interventional chest radiology. You will be expected to
provide high-quality reporting and intervention across modalities,
including:
- Plain Film, Ultrasound, CT and MRI
- CT-guided biopsy and related chest interventional procedures
Additional subspecialty reporting skills or interventional capabilities
would be highly advantageous and are welcomed within our expanding
service.
As a key member of the department, you will also provide general
radiology support, including participation in on-call and acute imaging
work to ensure continuity of care for our patients.
You may also be required to undertake any other duties necessary for
the effective performance of the role, appropriate to the Consultant
grade.

Essential criteria
- On GMC’s Specialist Register or be no more than six months from receiving CCT at interview date
- FRCR or equivalent higher qualification from a different College or from overseas.
Desirable criteria
- Fellowship
- Advanced or further degrees.

Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in General Radiology
- Confident with Information Technology.
- Subspecialty training and experience in chest imaging post FRCR 2B
Desirable criteria
- Experience in chest intervention
- Knowledge of a wide range of educational methods
- Experience in cardiac imaging
- Managerial skills
Training
Essential criteria
- In General Radiology (CT, MR, US, Plain Films, Fluoroscopy) with appropriate sub-specialist training

Personal Circumstances
Essential criteria
- Must reside within 20 miles or 60 minutes from Airedale General Hospital. If do not reside within this distance, this should be discussed with recruiting manager
- Able to provide an on call service
Clinical Governance & Audit
Essential criteria
- To have understanding of all elements and commitment to the principals of clinical governance and clinical audit.
