An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our pharmacy team at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
We are looking for a progressive and proactive individual with strong leadership and problem-solving skills. Applicants must be self-motivated and organised. You will be able to work effectively alone and as part of a team and contribute to the process of service development and innovation by your own initiative and enthusiasm.
As a Senior Pharmacy Assistant within the pharmacy team, you will have the opportunity to develop a truly excellent, person-centred care pharmacy service at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. Particularly key to the role will be the multi-disciplinary engagement and coordinating the safe and effective flow of work through the dispensary.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English grade C or above.
- NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services, or a willingness to work towards
- Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) Level 2 qualification or equivalent or willingness to work towards.
Desirable criteria
- Support staff accuracy checking qualification, or willing to work towards.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Has worked in a dispensary area of a hospital pharmacy department.
- Experience of leading a team, training and mentoring staff.
- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team environment. Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators.
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work to targets.
- Conflict resolution experience.
Skills and Attributes
Essential criteria
- Team Player.
- Ability to organise rotas and prioritise workloads, manage own time/tasks and those of others.
- Able to solve routine day to day problems.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing demands and situations.
- Aware of own limitations.
Desirable criteria
- Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh.
