An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and motivated Dialectical Behaviour Therapist (DBT) to join our CASCADE Service within the Integrated Community Care and Recovery (ICCR) Personality Disorder Pathway. This post is being recruited to provide essential cover for maternity leave and to help meet increasing service demand.
Main duties of the job
This exciting role offers the suitable candidate opportunities to provide individual and group interventions to both adults and young people. You will join a large and diverse psychological therapies team, consisting of clinical psychologists specialist psychological practitioners and assistant psychologists. The services are committed to providing the best care for women and young people, and as such service user involvement and co-production are central to what we do.

Person specification
Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- A recorded/registered qualification eligible for registration with the HCPC or the NMC, PLUS further training in DBT, to at least 5-days intensively trained.
Desirable criteria
- Training in other specific psychological approaches or programmes to address risk behaviours, such as LMV-E, FIP-MO etc.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience, knowledge and skills of working with people with personality difficulties and complex trauma presentations.
- Experience of offering interventions to specifically address risk behaviours, such as self-harm, violence/aggression and/or fire-setting.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working therapeutically with ‘difficult to reach’ clients with complex mental health and behavioural needs.
Skills/Knowledge
Essential criteria
- High-level knowledge of the theory and practice of at least one specialised psychological therapy, such as DBT
- Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS
Applicant requirements
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
