Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for highly motivated and proactive Health Care Assistant to work within a well-established, acute Paediatric team who are dynamic and forward thinking. Here in Wolverhampton, we provide services for children and young people with a wide variety of general and specialised medical and surgical conditions which all provide fantastic learning opportunities.

We are looking to expand our committed and compassionate team to enable us to continue to develop the exceptional service that we provide, and to work towards having independent ward, surgery, outpatient and PAU (including Same Day Emergency Care) facilities due to growing demand and our ambition to always improve the services that we provide. Successful candidates will join our friendly, supportive teams led by Supervisory Senior Sisters / Service Managers / Team Leaders and be part of a nursing skill mix reflective of the acuity of the patient group.

We offer a robust induction program to ease the transition into a new working environment which we will tailor to meet the needs of each individual candidate. We offer a very supportive and welcoming team and will ensure you receive all the training on induction to enable you to carry out the role safely ensuring excellent standards of care.

A healthcare assistant training programme is available for those staff who are new to the care environment, and many training opportunities are in place to encourage career progression.

Main duties of the job

To assist with the direct care of children, young people and families as delegated to and supervised by registered nurse / health care professional.

To provide support to the nursing team working collaboratively with members of the multi-disciplinary team and contributing positively to the delivery of high quality compassionate care.

To uphold the fundamental standards of safety and quality always putting the children' young people and families' needs first and protecting them from harm
