Job overview

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, innovative, and clinically experienced dietitian to take on an apprenticeship to become an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) working in Paediatric dietetic practice.  The role includes Cardiology lead alongside Surgery and Burns tertiary services

Depending on your level of experience and qualifications there are 2 routes to obtain the ACP qualification.

1.               ACP E-Portfolio route -you would work at band 7 level whilst completing your portfolio of evidence. This is dependent on having a Master’s degree and Specialist dietetic clinical experience in Cardiology and being accepted via the e-portfolio route.

2.               ACP apprenticeship – by undertaking the level 7 ACP apprenticeship programme in conjunction with the University of the West of England.

Main duties of the job

Evidence of continued professional development is essential. Experience in Cardiac dietetics is not essential and we would consider a candidate with the ambition to develop themselves and learn on the job if you have all the other relevant experience and skills. You must have strong leadership, excellent communication and good time management skills, alongside a passion to drive forward research, with compassion to support the patients and their families.  It is essential to be able to lead and manage junior dietetic team members working in cardiology, GI surgery, and burns and work collaboratively alongside the PICU/HDU Band 7 dietitian lead across the children’s hospital and region. Dedication and commitment to the direction of travel for the department, hospital, trust, and region are essential.

UHBW is a teaching trust and offers a supportive learning environment with a positive personal and professional development ethos. Bristol is a vibrant University, historical, multicultural city with excellent road, rail and air links.

If you want to join a friendly, dynamic, forward-thinking dietetic team to develop both yourself, and our services, within a well-supported team environment please apply.
