  • The Trust’s latest CQC inspection report, rated the Trust as “Good” overall, “Outstanding” for caring with an “Outstanding” end of life service and a range of “Outstanding ”practices in areas such as the Emergency department, adult community services and outpatients. We have been ranked as one of the UK's top hospitals by health intelligence specialists CHKS.
  • Our Stroke Unit has maintained the ‘A grade’ in the latest Royal College of Physicians’ Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP) audit
  • We are the home for the National Spinal Injuries centre, the birthplace of the Paralympics.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual to lead the Acute Care Hub pharmacy team who are responsible for providing pharmaceutical care services to the Emergency Medicine and Acute Medicine areas at BHT. We are looking for an experienced clinical pharmacist with excellent personal, communication and leadership skills to lead and develop clinical pharmacy services to this key area of the Integrated Medicine Division.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the clinical supervision of junior pharmacists, medicines management pharmacy technicians and pre-registration pharmacists. You must possess the vision, energy and influencing skills to oversee the clinical pharmacy service provided to these areas. The ability to work in close collaboration with senior medical, nursing and pharmacy colleagues will be essential as will the ability to demonstrate patient focussed and leadership behaviours.

This is a great time to join the team as the trust is currently redeveloping the Emergency Department and relocation of the Outpatient Pharmacy to support front door patients and the streamlining of services. We are due to implement electronic prescribing in 2020.

The combination of responsibilities within this post will significantly facilitate your growth as an advanced pharmacy practitioner and we will support and encourage you to continue to progress with both your professional and personal development.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.
