Annex 21 Band 4 - 70%
We are looking for a forward thinking, enthusiastic, organised and motivated individual to join our team of Medical Secretaries.
You will undergo training to provide a first class, comprehensive secretarial service to a large team of local Consultant Medical Staff and to facilitate effective communication between medical teams at our Swansea centre.
You will learn to actively participate in the planning and implementation of all reading and assessment clinics held at the Swansea Breast Screening Centre. You will also provide non clinical advice and information over the telephone to service user, their families or carers.
Main duties of the job
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Trainee Medical Secretary. The role of Medical Secretary is varied, interesting and continuously growing.
Medical Secretaries provide a comprehensive secretarial service to the local clinical team. Planning and supporting the assessment pathway, including processing assessment clinics, typing clinic letters, recording clinical data and creating electronic treatment referrals.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a keen eye for detail, have excellent written and oral communication skills, accurate audio and copy typing skills, high level organisational skills.
Candidates for this post do not need to hold the full qualifications detailed on the job description as this is a training post. Candidates should have a good general level of education with the ability and enthusiasm to undertake a training programme which will enable you to become a Medical Secretary.
