Job overview

An exiting opportunity has arisen for a General Office Assistant based in Glangwili General Hospital.

The post holder will be required to carry out  General Office Administrative duties and provide a cashier service to patients, visitors and staff following standard financial procedures.

The post holder will be the main point of contact manning the reception dealing with patients, staff and visitors. From reimbursement of travelling claims, to receiving and processing money from other sources.  

Receiving, recording and safe keeping of all lost property in the hospital.

Collecting, Counting, Receipting of cash on oracle system 

Process Credit card payments. Bank at the end of the day via the terminal as and when used.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the general office to be carried out as per standard financial procedures: - 

Collection, counting and receipting of cash from vending machines, tills in dining room, shop. Counting and checking the cash for accuracy with members of staff in the various departments.

Issue change to catering department

Process credit card payments

Record all income on oracle system

Preparing all monies for banking. Counting cash, checking it for accuracy and packing it ready for collection by Securicor.

Deal with queries relating to patient travelling expenses.

Keep records and provide reports of income generated to send out to relevant departments.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
