Job overview

The role of the Health Care Support Worker is to support in the delivery of high-quality patient care who actively participates in and supports the registered nurses and clinicians in the outpatient clinics. The post holder will undertake a range of clinical care duties within the speciality clinics including working in both Elective and Fracture Clinics.

 

 

 

 

Main duties of the job

 

  • Prepare the clinic room effectively ready for the clinics.

  • Assist the consultant in clinic preparing the necessary documentation needed (giving the consultant consent forms, documentation as needed).
  • Prepare patients for consultations, help patients to get dressed/undressed, help with shoes and socks.

  • Assist in appropriately chaperoning in clinic.
  • Ensure the room is re stocked after clinic, dressing packs, paperwork is available for the next clinic.
  • Applying various splints, braces and orthopaedic devices.
  • Completing patient clinical outcomes on the clinical digital system.
  • Answering the phone.
