Main duties of the job

To undertake a full range of duties working in support of, and supervised by a registered general nurse, including  setting up and working in procedure rooms preparation handling of equipment stock replacement and other general duties working in    recovery and admission and discharge of patients  in ensuring optimal care delivery within endoscopy services to the  of North Tees and Hartlepool Trust. 

Our aim is to ensure each and every patient receives the highest quality, evidence based care in a clean and safe environment.  In order to do so the post holder must complete and be signed off the local competency packs within a specified period

as part of the endoscopy team the successful candidate will  in all work in all areas on the unit cross site working is required

duties will include   admission recovery and discharge of patients room and equipment preparation  working in procedure  room  general day to day duties patient transport liaising with other departments  

work cross site as required

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ 2 in Healthcare or equivalent qualification. Literacy and Numeracy Grade C or above.
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ 3 in Healthcare or equivalent qualification. Previous experience in healthcare setting

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience in healthcare setting
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience as a HCA in an endoscopy environment

Skills and aptitudes

Essential criteria
  • Excellent communication skills Ability to work on own initiative Team player
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of dealing with members of the public

Disposition

Essential criteria
  • Flexibility – able to cope with different work environments Ability to work under pressure/meet tight deadlines whilst delivering high quality work
