Job overview

We are looking for an experienced Urology Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the team  at our Broomfield  site.

An exciting opportunity  has arisen  within our Urology Oncology Team for a Band 7  Clinical Nurse Specialist. This role is ideal for any nurse with  urology oncological experience who wishes to further develop into the CNS role. Depending on experience/qualifications this role may be offered as a developmental role commencing on a Band 6 with progression to a Band 7. We look forward to your application. Main duties of the job

You will promote and develop high standards of care for Uro-oncology patients. 

You will work in close collaboration with the Urology and Oncology departments and other members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a safe and effective pathway of care.

Support of patients and their family is an essential part of this role, along with sharing CNS expertise with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse / NMC registered
  • Post-registration experience – with demonstrable experience working in urology or oncolog
Desirable criteria
  • BSc or Masters in an allied field
  • Non-Medical Nurse prescribing
  • Consultation & Assessment qualification
  • ENB 998 or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of caring for patients with urological or oncological conditions.
  • Experience at junior sister level or similar, or have acted up in this role.
  • Working automatously & part of a team.
Desirable criteria
  • Have been involved with any nurse led services, or service redesign
  • Knowledge of broader issues related to specialty – political and Trust
