Digital Integration Developer

Band 6

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This technical role requires the incumbent to assist with design, develop, test and implement solutions using specialised knowledge associated with integration of clinical messages within an Integration Engine environment in line with the digital strategy and a Digital Integration Analyst

Support the analysis and documentation of user and business requirements, in both a technical and non-technical format for clinical and digital services consumers.

Understand and apply relevant technical architecture strategies, policies, standards and practices.

The position has day to day autonomy for resolving support issues and leading digital integration, independent of managerial supervision

Communication

The post holder will receive and be supported in interpreting highly complex information regarding clinical systems providing recommendations and expert advice to the Infrastructure Team members and Digital Management teams as appropriate.

Assisting in specific technical input regarding development and integration requirements to third party suppliers.

Analytical and Planning

Will make some decisions around priorities regarding clinical and non-clinical systems developments with the senior members of the team.

Flexibility in handling changing or conflicting priorities and resilience in overcoming obstacles or crises.

Use and adhere to the Trusts agree Project management methodologies using available resources when delivering a complex development / integration project.

Ability to work as part of a team, using own initiative, work unsupervised and prioritise own workload on occasion.

Ability to plan Tasks and activities which may require adjustment due to variable workload.

Planning a number of different priorities on a daily or otherwise basis. Prioritising as required due to organisational demands.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience such as applied science of IT or possesses specialised expert knowledge gained through real world experience in development and/or integration
Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
Substantial experience in a digital service problem solving role

Desirable criteria

NHS Operational Background
Recognised Experience with Integration Engines, solutions and methodologies.

Knowledge

Essential criteria

Demonstrable knowledge in problem solving or software development background
Demonstrable experience of working within a project / delivery environment

Desirable criteria

Understanding of integration technologies and topologies
Demonstrable success in working within a team
